The range of areas covered in Gulshan's consultancy role
includes:

Gulshan has also written materials for
various organisations and publications for schools such as Engaging Parents as Stakeholders and Multi-Cultural Assemblies. She regularly writes
articles for The Key, an educational resource web-site for school leaders and governors. In addition, Gulshan has been a keynote speaker at national
conferences organised by The Key on SEND and Safeguarding.
Gulshan has over twenty years’ experience of training and provides training
for schools, governors and Local Authorities on a regular basis. This training ranges from:
- school self-evaluation for heads, senior managers and governors
- development of leadership, management and accountability roles
- evaluating, developing and improving teaching and learning
- strategies to promote the achievement of able pupils
- developing the roles of middle leaders
- developing strategies for successful use of assessment to support learning
- the role of governors, including self-evaluation for governors

- working with, and supporting the needs of, pupils with English as an additional

Specific Work on SEND
In the past involvement of reviews of SEN across LAs and advising on provision
Often reviewing the whole, or most, of EOTAS when inspecting PRU provision - especially in London
authorities
- Advising academies and trusts on wider provision for SEN needs
- A fair it of work with The Key both in terms of advice and through speaking at conferences on SEN/use of
teaching assistants etc
- Recently chaired two conferences on mental health needs in education - one in London and one in York - included speaking
on how to develop a strategy for mental health and dealing with mental health needs
- Have a strong understanding of health systems due to role on Ipswich and East Suffolk Clinical Commissioning Group
between 2012 and 2015 - included working with local voluntary sector and the LA on SEN and disability; involved in Learning Disabilities Conferences locally; working with other members of the board
in tackling lack of assessment for ASD for secondary aged pupils; a lot of work on provision, or lack of, for mental health and the issues of exclusion due to behavioural needs stemming from social
and mental health needs

Business or Improvement Plans.
